What are account arrangements?

Understanding the Account Data Perspective

The Account Data Perspective is a vital feature available in the Exopen Portal. It presents a structured view of your financial data, allowing for a streamlined analysis and reporting process. It includes three key account arrangements: the Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Liquidity Budget.

Shared Account Arrangements

The account arrangements within the Account Data Perspective are shared resources across all Exopen products. This ensures a consistent view of your financial data, regardless of the product in use. Whether you are preparing a financial report in Exopen Planning or creating a dashboard in Power BI through Exopen Data Layer, these shared arrangements provide a common understanding of your organization's financial data.

By default, these account arrangements align with the BAS-account arrangement, automatically organizing new accounts into their correct account group. However, the flexibility to modify these arrangements allows for a personalized representation of your data, suiting your unique needs. Please note, if modifications are made, the automatic addition of new accounts ceases, requiring manual inclusion into account groups.

Anatomy of an Account Arrangement

Every account arrangement within the Account Data Perspective consists of three key components, forming a hierarchical structure:

  1. Accounts: These are the individual accounts that exist in your data source.
  2. Account Groups: These are the clusters that include accounts or other account groups. They categorize similar accounts together for ease of data analysis and reporting.

  3. Summary Rows: These are unique objects that provide a summarized view of the account groups above them. They enable a quick understanding of the financial status by offering a consolidated view of the underlying account groups. It's important to note that summary rows are exclusive to the top level of the arrangement, providing an overarching view of the financial data.

The Account Data Perspective in the Exopen Portal simplifies financial data management by offering a structured and consistent view of your data. Its flexibility, coupled with the use of shared arrangements, ensures your data can be tailored to fit your specific needs, without sacrificing the common understanding crucial for collaborative work.
